They are ready for the challenge, but learned early that one should have to do it alone. There are so many great people in the world and so many more wonderful things to do to advance us as a society. They have witnessed the worst in people during traumatic times and despite these moments, they recognize the goodness in people. They have 40 years of combined experience in law enforcement and have seen many tragic moments on the job. Tosha also received her Master's Degree in Children's Law and Policy from Loyola University School of Law in Chicago. from Illinois State University where she majored in Communications and minored in Sociology. Jacqui is a graduate of Northeastern Illinois University where she majored in Psychology and minored in Criminal Justice.
Jacqui excelled at basketball and became a collegiate athlete while Tosha just admired her, but didn't quite become as great as her big cousin in that arena. They were two of three girls growing up on the block, while the other seven kids were boys, so having to be tough came early. Jacqui and Tosha are cousins and come from a very large family. Laundry love partners with groups and local laundromats in cleaning clothes and linens of low-income or no-income families and person (s).
The Laundry Love initiative consists of regular opportunities to come alongside people who are struggling financially by assisting them with their laundry. The Laundry Cafe-Evanston will be where community meets necessity. Laundry Love gives the gift of clean clothes. They want to bring a unique spin to doing laundry in Evanston, while bringing a community element to such an essential chore. They were both born and raised in Evanston, IL and have a strong sense of belonging to the city. He has been married to Noriko Kurosawa for 45 years, lives in McLean and Tokyo, has two grown children, and attends McLean Presbyterian and Falls Church Anglican.Tosha Wilson and Jacqui White are the co-creaters of The Laundry Cafe project. Linn started volunteering at the Lamb Center about four years ago and is now the regular Monday morning laundry guy. He has served on numerous corporate and not-for-profit boards, including corporate joint ventures in the US, UK, Italy, and Turkey, the East West Center, the World Affairs Council, the Benham Group, and the Hill Manuscript Library. He grew up in Oklahoma City, and was educated at Princeton College, Harvard Law School, and Cambridge University (to which he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship, a Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and a Ford Foundation Fellowship). Linn practiced corporate law in Washington D.C.
Trade Representative, with the rank of Ambassador, and by President Reagan to be General Counsel of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. He was appointed by President George H.W. Most recently, he was in the global independent electricity generation business at Edison Mission Energy and Mirant Corporation, from which he retired in 2009. Linn Williams has had more than 35 years of experience in business, law, and government, working mostly in matters where business and public policy interact. They have been married for 41 years and we have three adult children. While laundry is often a common topic of conversation in the store, Richardson sells. His responsibilities involved reaching out to those “outside the walls,” both locally and globally, in need of compassion, justice and the Good News of the Gospel. Alan lives with his wife, Doris, in Fairfax, Virginia. While laundry and washing your clothes and other textiles is what Richardson is known for across the country, thanks to his TV show and 2021 book, 'Laundry: Finding Joy in a Common Chore,' in Minnesota he is known for a store at the famed Mall of America.
Alan served for 11 years on the staff of Fairfax Community Church in Fairfax, VA where he served as the pastor of global engagement. He has served on numerous boards including those of Wycliffe USA, Stone Forest Leadership Alliance, All Kids Can Learn International, and Marketplace Development and Enterprises. He spent 15 years in field assignments in Mexico, Philippines and China and served as the director of SIL’s work in China from 1987 to 1995. Alan MacDonald has over 30 years of experience working with global faith-based non-governmental organizations (including Wycliffe and SIL International) on efforts to promote Bible translation and on the role of language and culture in education and development.
